According to the International Herald Tribune, a new report has shown that less than a quarter of Internet users are in the US. The ComScore data also comes with some great nuggets, like the fact that the longest time spent online is in Israel.

Makes discussion of governance and language issues very interesting! On a side note, of the countries with the absolute highest user numbers, only four of ten have English as an official language, the US and UK, India and Canada. (Technically, English is not ‘official’ in either the US or UK, though!). The other six are China, Japan, Germany, Korea (South), France and Italy.

And as a sidenote. I read this article on a flight (free!), tried to blog it in an airport (and failed due to wifi issues), and am finally doing it from extremely sunny Beograd. How’s that for unnecessary bragging combined with unconscious irony?
