Microsoft could be heading into a messy bit of business again, over Internet Explorer 7.

Google has informally complained to U.S. and European antitrust regulators about what it says are biased settings on Microsoft’s latest web browser, marking the latest spat between two companies whose business models are increasingly bumping up against one another.

It’s a premature story, and also an unclear one in the lack of evidence on how significant the broswer setting really is - basically, it’s a search box similar to that in Firefox-like browsers (which currently have Google as the default search, but are very easy to change) that heads to MSN search (you can feck off if you think you’re getting a link). Normally it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but in the context of prior findings against MS, and the ongoing resolution on bundling issues, this certainly doesn’t help their case.

Why do people feel the need to chatter and snigger through films? That’s what Mass is for! I just don’t get it - paying a tenner to sit in a darkened room and interact over THX sound? What are these people - terminally shy? Members of paedophile societies? Physical mirrors of The Elephant Man? Why do they need to conduct their business surrounded by angry, distracted people jacked up on Pepsi and Maltesers?
